Alder Bay Housing Co-Op

Welcome to the Alder Bay Housing Co-operative! Our Co-op is a complex of eight townhouse-style buildings containing 94 apartments. It was built in 1979 on about half a hectare (about one acre) of leased land. We are located on the south shore of False Creek in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, just southeast of Granville Island.

The complex is a mixture of one- two- and three-bedroom apartments, home to about 200 people, ranging in age from children to seniors. It is mixed-income housing. That is, through a mixture of philosophy, policy and legal arrangements with the City of Vancouver and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), we ensure that families with a wide range of incomes are able to live here, side-by-side.
